- My retirement savings need to catch up. As of this writing, at age 32, I only have 20k saved towards retirement. If I don't change now, I can never afford to retire. Fortunately, retirement will be possible if I complete my current goal and save 15% of my income for the rest of my career.
- If something horrible happened to my car today, I would not be able to afford a new one, nor would I be eligible to finance a new car. I could lose my ability to live and work independently.
- I have no savings. If I lost my job today, I could not afford to cover even a month of expenses. I wouldn't be able to cover my debt which would destroy my credit and drive me to bankruptcy. I don't like feeling like the rug could be pulled out from under my livelihood.
- I have no savings; if something serious happened to one of my pets, I could not afford to treat it. I wouldn't say I like feeling my beloved pets may have to suffer due to my mistakes.
