Analysis
Last week, I did not hit my DSA practice or physical activity goals. To mitigate this issue, I applied the “Make It Easy” principle outlined in James Clear’s Atomic Habits.
“Make It Easy” means to define success in a goal as an action so simple that it’s almost impossible to fail. For example: if your goal is to “Be a person that values fitness as evidenced by being good at pushups,” the too-easy-fail goal would be “complete a single pushup every day.”
I set the following criteria:
Goal: Practice data structures and algorithms every weekday
Make It Easy: Review one flash-card from Anki deck per weekday
Goal: Engage in purposeful physical activity every day
Make It Easy: Walk around the block of your house at least once per day
Despite “making it easy” I still struggled with my physical activity goal. Honestly, I attribute it to fatigue. This week I will continue with the above criteria and reassess next week.
